LA INSUBORDINADA / THE INSUBORDINATE (SHE/HER)
La Otra Danza
A partir de mayo de 2021, miembros del colectivo La Otra Danza hicieron aparición en las manifestaciones en Bogotá del paro nacional. El grupo de mujeres vestía ropa negra y se distinguía a la distancia por sus pelucas rosadas fosforescente y los megáfonos que levantaban para amplificar sus voces en medio de las multitudes. La acción La Insubordinada se desplegó en distintos momentos del paro y lugares de la ciudad para manifestarse contra la desaparición forzada sistemática y la violencia estatal contra los cuerpos. En sus encuentros con la policía, se mantenían en posturas firmes y quietas, haciendo resonar los mensajes que construían a partir de fragmentos de distintos textos y testimonios de víctimas, como un collage sonoro.
As of May 2021, members of the interdisciplinary collective La Otra Danza made appearances at the demonstrations for the national strike in Bogotá. The group of women wore black clothing and could be distinguished from a distance by their bright pink wigs and the megaphones they used to amplify their voices in the midst of the crowd. The action La Insubordinada [The Insubordinate] was deployed at different moments of the strike and places around the city to protest against systematic, forced disappearance and state violence. In their encounters with the police, they maintained firm and quiet postures, projecting the megaphone messages they constructed from fragments of different texts and victims’ testimonies as a sound collage.

La calle es nuestro escenario, el cuerpo nuestro medio y la voz nuestro manifiesto.
- LA REPETICIÓN ( LOOP – BUCLE )
Elija un movimiento, un sonido, una palabra, imagen y cree un loop. Las repeticiones son fundamentales, generan ritmo y comprometen la memoria del cuerpo, refuerzan el sentido del mensaje, profundizándolo.
- OBJETOS SIMBÓLICOS
Utilice o cree objetos portátiles, llamativos, livianos, accesibles y económicos. Los elementos buscan caracterizar, sintetizar, exponer, representar, señalar, indicar, identificar en el sentido de su mensaje.
- EL SONIDO
Utilice o cree sonidos grabados o pregrabados, atmósferas sonoras, música, discursos, etc. El sonido como elemento disruptor del espacio y el tiempo: pueden ser voces, sonidos, música, ruidos, análogos y/o digitales.
- EL CUERPO Y EL MOVIMIENTO
Construya imágenes desde la acción corporal, movimientos sencillos y cotidianos (acostarse en el piso, saltar, sacudirse, quedarse quieto), implementando organizaciones coreográficas básicas: líneas, rectas, diagonales, círculos, bloques, cardúmenes, cánones y coros que dialoguen con el espacio urbano como arquitectura para la acción. Puede intervenir puntos simbólicos de la ciudad interpelando los espacios de poder que son ilegítimos y han generado vulneraciones a los derechos humanos. El cuerpo y el movimiento será el emisor central de la experiencia en la construcción de un cuerpo simbólico colectivo, generando relaciones cinestésicas y de contagio con la ciudadanía.
- LA ARENGA
Cree un mensaje directo, contundente, corto a través de textos, poemas, canciones, frases, lemas, dichos de recordación colectiva y/o sabiduría popular, voces que recojan denuncias y reclamos sociales. La arenga expresa el mensaje explícito de lo que se quiere comunicar.
- LA VOZ TESTIMONIAL
Investigue, recolecte, archive relatos testimoniales de cuenta de las violaciones a los derechos humanos. Reconocer el testimonio como el corazón de la denuncia, como plataforma de las voces que han vivido la injusticia, amplificando las voces de la denuncia.

The street is our stage, the body our medium, and the voice our manifesto.
- REPETITION ( LOOP)
Choose a movement, a sound, a word, an image and create a loop. Repetitions are fundamental, they generate rhythm and engage the body’s memory, they reinforce the meaning of the message, they deepen it.
- SYMBOLIC OBJECTS
Use or create portable, eye-catching, light, accessible, and inexpensive objects. The elements seek to characterize, synthesize, expose, represent, point out, indicate, identify the meaning of your message.
- SOUND
Use or create recorded or pre-recorded sounds, sound atmospheres, music, speeches, etc. Sound as a disruptive element of space and time: it can be voices, sounds, music, noises, analog, and/or digital.
- THE BODY AND MOVEMENT
Build images from bodily action, simple and everyday movements (lying on the floor, jumping, shaking, standing still), implementing basic choreographic organizations: lines, straight lines, diagonals, circles, blocks, shoals, canons, and choruses that create dialogue with the urban space as architecture for action. They can intervene in symbolic points of the city, questioning the spaces of power that are illegitimate, who have generated violations of human rights. The body and its movement will be the central emitter of the construction of a collective symbolic body, generating kinesthetic relations and contagion.
- THE HARANGUE
Create a direct, forceful, short message through texts, poems, songs, phrases, slogans, sayings of collective remembrance, and/or popular wisdom, voices that gather denunciations and social claims. The harangue expresses the explicit message of what you want to communicate.
- THE TESTIMONIAL VOICE
Research, collect, archive testimonial accounts of human rights violations. Recognize testimony as the heart of denunciation, as a platform for voices that have experienced injustice, amplifying voices of denunciation.

La Otra Danza es una propuesta artística interdisciplinar, donde artistas interesados en sumar para la invención de paisajes creativos han desarrollado una propuesta de investigación escénica, audiovisual y pedagógica de carácter crítico en respuesta a la inminente necesidad de generar sentidos del futuro a través del arte. Desde el año 2014 desarrolla un intenso proceso de incidencia política a través del trabajo de arte y memoria con organizaciones sociales, de víctimas y ciudadanía. Es codirigida por Kalia Ronderos y Juana Ibanaxca Salgado, artistas escénicas, historiadoras y activistas.

La Otra Danza is an interdisciplinary artistic collective based in Bogotá where artists meet to develop critical audiovisual, pedagogical research and generate future-oriented landscapes through art. Since 2014, they have been working closely with, through art and memory, social organizations, victims, and citizens experiencing intense processes of political advocacy. The co-directors are performing artists, historians, and activists Kalia Ronderos and Juana Ibanaxca Salgado.
